The People`s Palace is a popular place for grandparents to bring their grandchildren to see how previous generations lived in the city as the collections bring together many displays which portray Glasgow life and culture over the centuries.

The displays include material on subjects such as: immigrants, the Glasgow "patter" (dialect), the temperance movement, the world wars, the "steamie" (communal wash-house), local politics, manufacturing and trading, Glasgow Fair, housing, sport ... and lots more!

This article is based on the guidebook "The Glasgow Guide".

Further details about the building can be found in "The Glasgow Guide".
