Glasgow`s Botanic Gardens started as a private venture which was eventually taken over as a public park. It is situated in the West End, near to Glasgow University and is a popular recreation area for many local people.

The Botanic Gardens are usually busy with West Enders when the weather is warm. The picture shows the main glasshouse.
